Ireland vs England in the Irish Pub, O'Neill's - rugby rules!

Talk about enthusiasm and atmosphere!  Gordon, annexed the last chair and watched England playing rugby against Ireland in an absolutely packed Irish Pub - O'Neills. Dozens and dozens of  young rugby fanatics did not get a chair and were standing around for 80 minutes,  totally transfixed,  following their team's scrums, ball possession, tactics and movements, scores and mistakes. The barmen pumped beers.  Same movement, same images on the big screens, same teams, but totally different responses when there was a score:   either complete dejection or complete elation.  Come on, England!  Come on, Ireland!  A second try sealed Ireland's victory against a dogged England  and made the 20%? supporters in O'Neill's hugely proud.  Michael would have loved being in O'Neills today - but Michael is in heaven, and there is no comparison!
(The O'Neill's pub is to be found off St Peter's Street at the bus stop, St Alban's, Hertfordshire).
A Little About What We are Famous For....

Housed in the old town library - complete with the original stain glass windows - we're anything but quiet inside with an ambience that's both warm and lively with a real Irish character to match. Our beer garden is equally inviting, especially in the warmer months. Friday's live music is an energetic affair, while Saturday night's DJ also keeps the evening moving, plus the town's shoppers always seem to welcome a bit of O'Neill's therapy during the day.
